Silke Staab
Silke Staab is Regional Policy Advisor on Women’s Economic Empowerment at the UN Women Regional Office for the Americas and the Caribbean. Previously, she was part of the Research and Data team at UN Women’s headquarters, where she led the development of flagship research and reports on social protection, the care economy, feminist climate justice, and gender-responsive economic transformation.
Before joining UN Women, she worked at the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Manchester and is the author of numerous publications on gender equality, social protection, care policies, and inclusive economic development.
